Project Brief: At Hipster Soap Co., soap is not just a product; it's a lifestyle. Their soaps are crafted with care, using only the finest, responsibly sourced ingredients. Hipster Soap Co. promises a cruelty-free, 100% organic, palm-oil free, hand-crafted, & zero waste soap bar. A full identity and logo was requested to showcase this ethical soap.
Strategy: I wanted to display the uniqueness of this soap company and tie their scent names with visual imagery. I created fun, textured illustrations for each soap that coincided with the names of each. For HSC's logo, I wanted to make something that would appeal to their chosen demographic and be eye-catching. I opted for custom, organic type that is made from negative space bring attention to the unique qualities of the soap from this company. The text "breaks the shape" as the company is breaking the mold of what a good, ethical soap means.
This soap series was accepted to High Point University's Artifact [BOLD] Competition. This project was also granted a 2023 Award of Design Excellence by the FL3TCH3R Exhibit.
